# Set up the 0.security harness

Install the open-source 0 CLI in the user's environment. Installation alone does not authorize security testing.

## macOS and Linux

Use the standalone release installer:

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/0sec-labs/0/main/install.sh | bash
export PATH="$HOME/.0/bin:$PATH"
0 --help
```

## Other environments

- Docker: `docker run ghcr.io/0sec-labs/0:latest --help`
- Windows: builds are experimental. Check https://github.com/0sec-labs/0/releases for availability and instructions.

## Continue with the user

1. Read https://0.security/llms.txt for the command and documentation index.
2. Help the user configure their model access, following the current CLI help and configuration documentation. Keep credentials private.
3. Ask which repositories or systems they want to test. Confirm authorization, targets and scope before running security tests.
4. Ask before changing files or applying fixes. Treat findings as evidence to verify.
